PARAGUAY: Colorado hegemony continues after municipal elections

Paraguay held elections in 227 municipalities on 19 November. As anticipated, the ruling Partido Colorado emerged victorious with convincing wins in the most populous cities. President Nicanor Duarte claimed that, once the final votes had been tallied, he expected his party to have won power in 75% of the municipalities.
